On the occasion of World Health Day 2019, a health workshop was organized in Pragyan School on 8th April 2019 for the students of classes 6th to 8th by Bakson Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Greater Noida in the school Auditorium. The theme of this workshop was “UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE EVERYONE EVERYWHERE”. The team of the doctors lead by Ms. Ritu from the institute presented the views on health and hygiene. Students were explained the definition of Heath as given by WHO as “State of complete physical, mental, and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Students actively participated in the workshop.
Workshop on Stress Management
Every year World Health Day is celebrated on 7th April to mark the anniversary of founding of World Health Organisation in 1948. To spread the word on several health issues around us, students of classes IX to XII attended a workshop on stress management by the teens. The resource person was Ms. Parul, the anaesthesia head in Yatharth hospital. The workshop was interactive wherein the students were told about the behavioural, emotional and physical changes in an individual due to stress. Potential causes like addiction to several things including mobile phones was discussed other than factors like sleep deprivation, bullying and junk food habits. In addition the measures to overcome such issues were explained too like necessity of physical activity, balanced food, enough sleep and importance of relaxing and unwinding as and when required. Need to consult a psychotherapist was also stressed upon in order to avoid anxiety issues. With the knowledge of several ways to conquer stress, overall the workshop was quite enriching for the students.
