Reopening of schools for April & May 2021 (Classes VI to XII)

‘And suddenly you just know it's time to start and trust the magic of beginning’ - Miester Eckhart

Dear parent

Greetings from Pragyan!

The past year has been a journey full of ups and downs for our students. An entire academic session away from physical school has fatigued the young minds. With the new normal now becoming old and the world preparing to press the restart button, we at Pragyan are all set to welcome our precious gems with open arms.

Keeping in mind the safety measures and SOP for reopening the schools in a safer manner, parents' feedback has been noted.

As per the inputs givenwe have decided that the school will function, for classes VI to XII, for April & May 2021, in the hybrid mode (physical and online). Classes will be streamed live for students opting to attend online classes.

The timings of the school shall be from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm, 5 days a week for both physical and online mode (subject to government approval).

A physical day in school will be a fruitful mix of academics, games, library and co-curricular activities. Students taking their classes online will be free during the Games, Library and Performing Arts periods. They may utilize this time in doing their homework or reinforcing concepts taught in the class. A special period will be organized on Saturdays for these students to pursue their interest in Visual and Performing Arts.

In physical school, Visual & Performing Arts will be allotted to students section wise for the forthcoming two months i.e. students of one particular section will undergo training with one particular Visual & Performing Arts teacher. The PA classes will be changed on rotation basis after every 2 to 3 weeks. This will help us in keeping our students in separate bubbles.

We understand the fact that the students are young and have not been to school for a year. Thus, we have incorporated one period a week of counseling with the school counsellor for students of classes VI & VII. This will help in hand holding our students and guiding them during the transition period.

School buses will be available to students for commuting. Monthly transport fee will have to be paid by the parents who have given their consent to use the school transport. All buses will seat only 70% of their capacity to maintain social distancing.

All walker students should reach school between 7:50 am to 8:15 am and report directly to the school ground. These students will be engaged in physical fitness activities by the sports teachers. Walker students will move back to their class rooms after the bus users have settled in the respective classes, after 8:15 am. All such arrangements are being done to ensure that number of students interacting or coming in contact with each other is minimized during morning arrival time.

The departure of students (walkers and bus users) will also be slightly staggered. Three different class-wise venues are being demarcated for dispersal of walkers at 4:00pm. Once the walkers get settled in their different venues, the bus users will move out of the class rooms for dispersal through buses. This will help us in maintaining social distancing while dispersal.

Meals will be cooked in school. Parents who have given their consent will pay the refreshment charges and students can have their breakfast and lunch prepared in school. Lesser number of students will be seated on each table to ensure adequate space. Other students, who have opted to bring food from home, need not pay the refreshment charges. These students will have their food in classes / ground.

Specific individual desks with proper social distancing will be allotted to every student in the classrooms. Bigger rooms of the school (Library / Activity rooms) are being converted into class rooms. In school, utmost care is being taken to ensure that students are safe. Classes for senior students have already been running smoothly.

Since lot of arrangements of infrastructure and other resources is required to be made, we will be grateful if parents do not change their options exercised in the survey form so as to assist us in smooth functioning of the School.

Parents are requested to fill up the consent form attached below and send it back to the class teachers by Tuesday, 16th March 2021 so that the school can make necessary arrangements.

Looking forward to a fruitful new session 2021-22.

Best wishes and warm regards
