Greetings from Pragyan!

The past year has been a journey full of ups and downs for our students. An entire academic session away from physical school has fatigued the young minds. With the new normal now becoming old and the world preparing to press the restart button, we at Pragyan are all set to welcome our precious gems with open arms.

Keeping in mind the safety measures and SOP for reopening the schools in a safer manner, parents' feedback has been noted.

As per the inputs given, we have decided that the school will function, for classes I to V, for April & May 2021, 5 days a week (subject to government approval), in the hybrid mode (physical and online). Physical and online classes will happen independently of each other. A few teachers will be deputed exclusively to take online classes. Students opting for the physical mode of schooling will be clubbed together in the sections specified for physical classes.

Keeping in mind the safety measures, the school has made desired changes so that social-distancing and hygiene can be maintained at all times on the campus.

Specific individual desks with proper social distancing will be allotted to every student in the classrooms. The activity rooms, like the dance room, art room, the basement, the library, etc. have been converted into spacious classrooms. In school, utmost care is being taken to ensure that students are safe. Classes for senior students have already been running smoothly. The classrooms and the washrooms will be sanitized at regular intervals.

The students will be guided to wash and sanitize their hands regularly. School cleaning staff will be on-site throughout the day and will ensure repeated cleaning of frequently touched surfaces like door handles, taps etc.

• Arrival at and departure from the schoolwill be staggered to reduce footfall. Separate timings have been devised for the school transport users and the walkers. The school buses will arrive by 8:10 am on campus, while the walkers are expected to report between 8:30 am to 8:45 am.
• As per the input received, the school is offering two sets of departure timings to the parents only for the months of April & May. Parents may opt for a dispersal time of 2:30 pm or 4:00 pm.Students leaving at 2:30 pm will be expected to do their recapitulation work/homework at home and bring it to school the next day. The ones opting for time till 4:00 pm will do their homework in school during the critical periods (3:00 pm - 4:00 pm) as during normal mode of schooling.
• Parents may choose from the timings mentioned below:-
  • For bus users: 8:15 am - 2:30 pm OR 8:15 am - 4:00 pm
  • For walkers: 8:30 am - 2:45 pm OR 8:30 am - 3:50 pm 

Please note that the transport services will be available for both the time slots on payment of the monthly transport fee. All buses will seat only 70% of their capacity to maintain social distancing.

The first period will commence from 9:00 am. The time between 8:15 am to 9:00 am, will be the ‘US' time, where the students will get an opportunity to interact with their teachers and peers and will have some fruitful discussion on various age-appropriate topics.

Tentative time slots / periods allocation for April & May 2021 are as follows:-

Meals will be cooked in school. Parents who have given their consent will pay the refreshment charges and students can have their breakfast and lunch prepared in school. A lesser number of students will be seated at each table in the dining hall to ensure adequate space. Other students, who have opted to bring food from home, need not pay the refreshment charges. These students will have their food in classes/ground.

The breakfast timings will be from 10:20 am to 10:50 am and the lunch from 2:00 pm to 2:20 pm. Students will have both the meals (breakfast and lunch) irrespective of the time slot chosen by them.

For the smooth functioning of the school, we request you to kindly opt from the following options and fill the same in the consent form attached herewith.

• Schooling of Students: Physical / Online
• Dispersal of Students: 2:30 pm / 4:00 pm
• Mode of Transport: School Bus / Walker
• Meals: School Food / Food from Home

Since a lot of arrangements of infrastructure and other resources are in the offing, we will be grateful if parents do not change their opinion exercised in the consent form so as to assist us in making suitable arrangements. The same need to be mailed to the class teachers by Wednesday, 17^th March 2021 so that the school can make necessary arrangements.
