\r\n\r\n· On the September 29, 2016, an Internet Safety Awareness Workshop - ‘Safe-A-Thon' was conducted by Telenor for classes VI to XII.
\r\n\r\nIn today's time of Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Snapchat and Instagram, it has become imperative to apprise students about the potential dangers of cyber-crime and cyber-bullying to which they are always exposed to, in case they don't follow some safety rules on the internet.
\r\n\r\nThe students got to understand that how danger usually lurks in their own friend list if they don't scrutinize people well before adding them to their friend list. Another very important message was -“Anything which is posted on the net is up there forever” and how cyber-criminals can use that information/ picture/ chat to bully, blackmail and harass children and teens. They need to be cautious when they share their pictures, videos or views on the social media. Other dos and don'ts of web safety regarding online friends, passwords, sharing personal information were also discussed in this very interactive and informative workshop.
