Dear Parent,

\r\n\r\n

· It is a joyous beginning to a new year 2016. A very Happy Lohri, Makar Sakranti and birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singhji.

\r\n\r\n

· The Winter Sports Camp, held in the school from 4^th to 10^thJanuary 2016, was a great opportunity for the students to hone their talent in various sports. The students also enjoyed the perfect weather and the company of their friends during vacation time.

\r\n\r\n

Pre-Primary

\r\n\r\n

In Nursery, revision of letters A-Z in sequence along with numbers from 11-20 in sequence.was done. General discussion on different kinds of clothes we wear in different season along with rhyme –This is the way we clean our self and on the festival of Lohri was held. Vyanjans Ã %A4%AF and Ã %A4%B0 were introduced with the help of flashcards in Hindi. ‘Bachchon sadak paar' rhyme was recited in the class.
In KG, recapitulation of previous work was done in Maths. Number names of 16,17 and 18 and introduction of simple subtraction was done. In Hindi ,recapitulation of two, three and four letters words was taught and vyanjans Ã %A4%A7 and Ã %A4%9A were introduced with related worksheets and a story. A general discussion on the festival of Lohri and Safety Rules was done in General Awareness. The children enjoyed colouring worksheets on ‘Rhino'.

Primary

\r\n\r\n

· Students of classes I and II, will enact a cartoon character, on Wednesday 27^th January 2016. Each child will learn a few lines of a character in English and enact in the class.

\r\n\r\n

· All the students of classes I to V will write one page in English and Hindi in their respective notebooks and submit them on Monday morning to their respective teachers.

\r\n\r\n

Assembly to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was held on 12^th January 2016. Students were informed about the life history and teachings of Swami Vivekananda and significance of his teachings in today's society.

\r\n\r\n

Senior

\r\n\r\n

Prabal House presented a presentation on significance of celebrating Lohri in the morning assembly on 13th Jan 2016. Lohriwas celebrated with a bonfire in the school ground and all the students of the school enjoyed the savories.
Students of classes 9 to 11 participated in Inter-House Rangoli,Poster making and Cooking activities. Prakand House, Prayas House and Pragati House were the winners respectively in each category.
Pen Paper Test IV for classes VI to XI commenced on 14^th Jan 2016. We wish our students all the very best.
Practice classes for the students of classes VI to VIII, selected after screening test of Inter-school Maths Olympiad, are being conducted in the zero periods and the circular regarding this has been mailed to the parents of the selected students.

- Physical fitness test for FA - IV will be conducted in the next week 18th -22^nd January, 2016 for the classes Nursery to V during the games period. Regularity in attendance will be appreciated.

Interact Club

\r\n\r\n

Interact Club, Pragyan School, Greater Noida, happily announces that a ‘Blood Donation Camp' is being organized in the school, on Saturday, 30th January, 2016 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

\r\n\r\n

The importance of Blood donation cannot be over-emphasised in any way. Sometimes getting blood of a particular group in critical situation is alarmingly difficult.We therefore request the parents and guardians to widely publicise this amongst their friends and acquaintances to make the ‘Blood Donation Camp' a great success.We look forward to your whole hearted co-operation in this noble endeavour.
