Dear Parent,

· The School will remain closed for classes Pre- Nursery to XII on April 14 and 15, 2016 on account of Ambedkar Jayanti and Ramnavmi respectively. The school will reopen at the usual time on 8^th April 2016.

\r\n\r\n

· Fee invoice for the first quarter, April-June 2016 has already been given to the students. Please ensure that the fee is paid on time.

Pre- Primary

\r\n\r\n

Children of Nursery and KG enjoyed their splash pool activity.
In Nursery, sleeping line (pre-writing pattern) was introduced in English. ‘Papa the great' Rhyme was introduced in the class. To enhance the fine motor skills of the children ‘Pouring activity was done in class. Rhyme 'Uppar Chanda gol gol' was introduced in Hindi. In Math, Number 1 and its value was introduced through flashcards and object counting. In General Awareness, discussion about ‘My Body Parts' was done. Students enjoyed watching PPT on different body parts and learnt a few rhymes.They also enjoyed the activity ‘Pinning the Body Part'
In KG, oral counting from 0-50 ,written practice from 0-20 and workbook pages 1,2,5 was done.Activity Hop Scotch on numbers, what comes after was done in Math .In Hindi, Swar ‘Ã %A4%86'and story ‘Ã %A4%9CÃ %A5%80Ã %A4%A4Ã %A5%82 Ã %A4â¢Ã %A4%BEÃ %A4%9CÃ %A4%A8Ã %A5%8DÃ %A4®Ã %A4%A6Ã %A4%BFÃ %A4%A8'was done in class. In Environmental Studies, a PPT on ladybird was shown and children learnt a few lines about the lady bird. They also learnt the song ‘Ladybird Ladybird Fly away home'.General discussion on summer season and my family was done in General Awareness.In English, sight words ‘boy', ‘girl' & ‘papa' were done. Recapitulation of words ‘mama' ,I,am,and the ‘Hi five' activity was strengthened. Letter ‘o'and ‘a' was introduced with related phonic words/objects. An activity ‘matching of pop corn' was done with the letter and sight words.

Primary

\r\n\r\n

Transcription in English and Hindi has been given to the students of classes II - V as per the guidelines of the teachers. Students should do their task neatly in their respective notebooks and submit their notebooks on Monday.
Students of class I should do Page 6 in English from their English workbook. In Hindi they will do page 149 in their transcription notebook.
Classes I and II should bring an empty cereal box and 5-6 colourful pages from any magazine for an activity to be conducted on April 22, Earth Day. The same should be submitted to the class teachers on 18.4.16.
Class IIC will have Roller Skating every Tuesday.

Seniors

The beginning of the "Open Forum", during assembly time on Monday, was a success. Students of all classes came forward to express their views on the given topic ‘Aims and goals are necessary in life to achieve success'. It was a good platform for the students to express their views in front of the entire senior section. Topic for the next week open forum is ‘Odd and even formula is good / alternative methods to curb pollution'.
Aditee Singh of Pragati House, Reet Kohli of Prayas House and Rohil Singh of Pragati House stood first, second and third respectively in the inter-House Spin A Yarn activity conducted on 6/4/16 for the classes IX-XII.
The nominations for the Senior Head Boy and Head Girl were completed this week. Interaction of Council members of various Houses will commence from next week.

Sports

Congratulations to Manisha Bansal of class VIIB, Pari Agarwal of class VB and Kushagra Arya of class IV C who participated in State level Roller Skates Championship at Meerut.
On Saturday, 9^th April, Classes VII A&B had Basketball and VI A,B & C had Badminton Intra- Mural matches. Classes IX to XI played a Friendly match with Aster Public School. All the participants enjoyed these activities.
Pragyan School will host Open Badminton Championship from Monday 18.4.16 to Wednesday, 20^th April 2016.
Manisha Bansal of class VII B and Saurabh Sharma of class XII have been selected for the training cum selection camp for Roller Skates Shoot Ball South Asian Championship at Colonel's Academy Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. Selected stydents from this camp will rpresent India , at Bangkok, Thailand, from July 10^th – 14^th , 2016.
On April 13, 2016 students of classes IX- XII participated in 100 mts sprints, long jump, shotput, and Discuss Throw for both boys and girls. Winners will be awarded certificates soon.
