THE SPIC MACAY PRESENTATION
\r\n\r\nIn collaboration with SPICMACAY, Pragyan hosted world renowned musicians in its premises on 28th January, 2015. Folk musicians Ustad Rahmat Khan Langa with his troupe presented a glimpse of the glorious tradition of folk music sung in the deserts of Thar. His associates comprised of four accompanists and two vocalists. The school auditorium was filled with their mesmerising music which filled the hearts of the audience. The maestro charmed the audience by teaching the nuances of a relatively easier folk song to all. Almost all sang with him. It was a unique experience; hundreds of students learnt and practiced singing.
\r\n\r\nApart from the Pragyan School fraternity, students and teachers of many other schools were present on this occasion. It was a great learning experience as the musicians demonstrated playing of some special musical instruments like Kartaal, Sindhi Sarangi and Nakkara. Ustad Rahmat Khan also gave tips to the children to improve voice quality and strengthen vocal chords in order to sing well.
\r\n\r\nThe audience was informed that a few chartbuster movie songs were inspired by their music. The musicians performed the original composition and the modified version for the audience. Their rendition of the Sufi song inspired all to join.
\r\n\r\nMrs. Ruchika Sharma, Principal, Pragyan School, presented the vote of thanks and Mr.Ram Chand, Managing Trustee of the school felicitated the guest musicians.
