`Sport is education, sport is life; sport brings the world together` Keeping this in mind it was the proud privilege of Pragyan School, Greater Noida to host the CBSE Basketball Cluster XIX-2017 from 25^th -28^th September-2017. A total of 125 schools with 188 teams from the North Zone participated in the category of under 19 and 17 (Boys & Girls). Games and sports are an integral part of Pragyan`s curriculum as it is believed that they teach the importance of working as a team while enhancing the competitive spirit in students. The school played host to over 500 students who stayed in its premises.

The Meet began with the invocation to Goddess Sarasvati by a Sarasvati vandana, followed by a short cultural programme consisting of a motivational song and poem. The ceremonial march past of the participating teams where each team proudly bore a school flag reflecting the love and pride they held for their school. This was followed by the hoisting of the CBSE flag by its CBSE observer, Ms Ritu. The oath was administered by the School Principal, Mrs. Ruchika Sharma, who then declared the Meet open.

What followed were a series of matches among the various teams in healthy competition. The first position for Boys Under 19 went to DAV Public Centenary School from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The first position for Girls Under 19 went to Army Public School, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. First position Boys Under 17 went to Nehru World School, Ghaziabad. First position Girls Under 17 went to Delhi Public School, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad. The meet was successfully culminated by the prize distribution ceremony encouraging, promoting and popularizing games.
