Students of class VII visited Qutub Minar in Mehrauli, Delhi, on 17 April, 2023. The Qutub Minar has been included in the coveted list of World Heritage Sites. Students observed and gained knowledge about the tallest brick minaret in India made of red and buff sandstone, which is an important example of early Afghan architecture, which later evolved into Indo-Islamic Architecture known as âNayab Namunaâ. They also saw an iron pillar in the complex, remains one of the most talked about and curious structures. It took around two hours to see the whole of the structures which included Alay minar, Masjid, charbagh garden, sundial clock, tomb etc. As this was the part of their Social Science Enrichment Activity, before visiting the site students were given a brief introduction of it and were informed how they have to make the drawing of the Minarets and write the details they observe there. It will be followed by the post activity, where students will design a Travel Guide Book / Brochure.
