Aurora and the Investiture Ceremony -2015

Aurora, the first cultural event of the session 2015-16 of Pragyan School, Greater Noida, was held on 4 July, 2015. It was a prelude to another very important event, the Investiture Ceremony of the newly elected student council of the school.

Aurora is celebrated every year as the first major function which showcases the scholastic and co-scholastic learning of the senior students of the school. This year the theme was, ‘We are the world'. Plays and Poems in Hindi, English and French, contemporary and folk dance presentation, vocal and instrumental music rendition, were presented by the students of classes VI to X. The programme commenced with invocation to lord Shiva, seeking his blessings for the Pragyan family. The problems of the farmers of India was highlighted by enacting a short portion of the play, ‘Godaan', written by the poet laureate; Munshi PremChand. Another play, ‘Mathematica', reflected on the phobia that students have of Mathematics and the way to overcome it.

The investiture Ceremony began with the speeches by the senior office bearers of the student council. The newly elected senior Head boy and the Head girl came up on the stage and spoke to the gathering about their readiness and eagerness to carry out their responsibilities and contribute towards the smooth functioning of the school. They thanked the students for choosing them as their leaders.

The senior and junior head girl and boy along with Captains, Vice-Captains and Additional captains of the four Houses of the school marched up on to the stage and stood with their House Flags. They took the oath administered by the school Principal, Mrs. Ruchika Sharma. They were bestowed with their badges and sashes by the Principal, Headmistress and the senior and junior school coordinators.

Angja Kanotra and Jishnu Mishra are elected as the head girl and the Head boy of the School for the session 2015-16.

The school Principal thanked the august gathering of the parents and re-instated the role of the school in building leaders for tomorrow.
